Team Manitoba’ swimmers kicked off the first week of the 2025 Canada Summer Games with power, precision, and determination. In just one week, they brought home an incredible 12 of Manitoba’s 16 total medals, including all six of our golds so far.
With three Games records shattered, and a series of dominant performances in the pool, this group has not only set the pace — they've defined it. From explosive sprints to strategic races, every lane was a showcase of hard work, heart, and unmatched team spirit.

Three New Canada Games Records
Teagen’s time in the 50m freestyle race is a new Canada Games record, 41.28.
In the preliminaries for Maxine’s 50m freestyle race, she broke the Canada Games record that was set in 2022, and in the final race she beat her own record with a time of 28.28.
Addi Bailey-Ross is the first able-bodied male from Manitoba to win the 50m butterfly since 1989.

With such a dominant performance—six golds spanning individual and relay events, along with three new Games records—this swim team set an electrifying tone for the remainder of the competition. Their combined speed, precision, and teamwork are making this opening week one for the record books.
